Intermediate Foundation

Description

Currently this class runs from 08:00 to 09:15 on Saturday mornings. This class marks the beginning of the more professional work for a dancer, which will progress through Intermediate and into Advanced. Barre work includes longer combinations of movement, legs should be extended to 90º in some movements and pointe work for girls is demonstrated in the centre as well as at the barre. Boys grand allegro really takes off at this level with higher elevation expected and much more challenging steps. Students working at this level should be doing as much ballet as possible and are expected to attend the additional free class during the week. This class is shared with Intermediate level students, generally age 15 and above but this will very much depend on the individual.
